Better Than Buttah was born from a deeply personal journey. In 2017, during pregnancy with my daughter, I began crafting rich body butters to nourish and protect my skin naturally. Years later, after welcoming my son in 2021, I was inspired to develop gentle, chemical-free soaps to support his sensitive skin.​​What started as a labor of love for my family evolved into Better Than Buttah, a proudly Black-owned skincare brand dedicated to creating clean, handcrafted essentials. Made in California using thoughtfully sourced ingredients from fellow small businesses, every product reflects our commitment to quality, community, and intentional self-care.

I'm a lifelong Bay Area resident, a mom of two, and the heart behind every product we create. Better Than Buttah began in my own home, inspired by the people I love most: my children. I wanted skincare products made with natural, nourishing ingredients that I could feel good about using on my family every day.
What started as a personal mission quickly grew into something much bigger. Friends and family began asking for my body butters, and before long, Better Than Buttah was born.
One of the things I love most about owning this business is connecting with people throughout the Bay Area. You'll often find me at local pop-ups, community markets, and small business events, sharing my products and hearing the stories of the people who use them. Nothing means more to me than meeting customers face-to-face and building genuine relationships within the community that has supported me my entire life.
